Our Befriending Scheme provides friendship for adults (16yrs+) from vulnerable groups, including those who are home bound due to illness or disability.
Befriending older people is also part of our mission to relieve isolation felt by this group in the community.
Our core aim is to run regular drop-in center's, building meaningful 1-to-1 friendships between vulnerable people and volunteers; we would like to put in place evening Befrienders Clubs starting from 6pm to 8pm and Saturday morning groups, also to bring the volunteers and elderly group opportunity to go on outing organized by the charity like gardening shows, cinema, fishing trip etc. as requested by the young and old clients receiving volunteer friendship.
We would be running one-off themed activity days, workshops and social events as well as providing volunteer training and support for carers. We aim to provide learning opportunities for our volunteers’ example courses on customer care, first Aid, communication skills and manual handling and with extra support for those who need it.
We aim to raise funds for the above activities to be started North London County.
we are looking for organizations that can assist with this scheme, and funding needed .
Care vocational provide free advice and career guidance and training for those who cannot afford the training cost. And not entitled for government funding : these are the disadvantaged in the community.
To be funded for free training, individuals have to be assessed. with aim for employment. candidates will need to meet our selection criteria.
